Misconceptions v. Fact Part 4: The Ins and Outs of the FCAT Today’s students are tomorrow’s teachers, workforce and leaders. The future of our state depends on their success, and that is directly linked to the quality of education they receive today. Florida is currently a national leader in establishing and implementing rigorous academic standards for each and every child in the state. By maintaining high academic standards for all students – and ensuring those standards are maintained – Florida will ensure its youngest citizens are equipped to thrive. In response to some confusion surrounding the FCAT, we are breaking down some common misconceptions to clearly separate the fact from the fiction. The chart below contrasts truths and research with some of the misinformation presently clouding the discussion.
